Hi all.

Hi all. I live in Southern England and have just bought a 350 Strada (GT). Always wanted a Morini 3 1/2 and now I have one. I also own a Moto Guzzi Griso 1200SE.

I've registered on the UK Morini forum as well and intend to join the owner's club.

I have sorted out the truly awful front brake and it now stops, which it didn't when I got it. The Veglia speedometer is pretty bad too-I'll either get it refurbished or find a good second hand one..

I have one more problem with it that I would be grateful of advice on. Between 5000 and 6000 revs, the engine goes complete flat and loses power. The sound of the engine also changes. I have not removed the carburettors to check the jet sizes; the previous owner had them ultrasonically cleaned.

Could this be carburettor or ignition problem? Any advice gratefully received.

I'm afraid I can't speak Dutch, so can't search the forum of answers.

Hi,
Normally I would welcome new members, but have my doubts about your intentions. First of all I have removed the link in your message.
Also, to avoid any confusion with forum spammers, I would like you to to change your user name on this forum.

Any further links to non-motorcycle related matters in future messages and your account will be deleted and your IP-address blocked.
Yes, consider this a warning.

Further to your technical problem with the 350 Strada (nice bike, I have got one myself).
The problem you describe is most likely ignition related. My bike had the same problem.
1. First have a look at the spark plugs. Probably one of them is black/oily.
2. The transducer (square black box under fuel tank) of that cylinder is half broken. Inside there is a coil and some electronics. The insulation of the windings on the coil has failed, resulting in some sort of "short cut". Replace the transducer with a new one and the problem is solved.
Go to the technical page. There you find which brandnew transducers are available. Replace them both and reset the timing of the ignition (with a strobe) afterwards.
According to the German Morini forum http://www.fodone.com/500205.htm this transducer is suitable to replace transducer 323921 (square black). Ignition timing, the advance curve should be correct, according to the Germans.
