125 H ??

Dear all,

I just registered here as I recently bought a Moto Morini 125 H (pic attached).
Generally not too bad a condition and the engine kicking over, but it may well have lain dormant for 2 or 3 decades
So in need of TLC etc, for which I'm firstly looking for documentation: any suggestion as to where I could find that - and more - most welcome !
Quite apart from that, the thing came without docs...
Not sure how the RDW will look upon that, just hoping it'll somehow go through ( call me naive if u want :-J)
Would be good though if I'd know how old it is etc
Dr. Google suggest anywhere between 1975 and 1983; would anyone know how I can tell ( ledgers on frame#'s or alike ??)
Again: any help much appreciated !

Best ,
Derk

Welcome Derk to the forum!

First of all, will move this topic later to the more appropriate category "125H, 250T, 250-2C" (under older V-twins).

TinTin on our forum has restored a 125H in the past. I am sure our Club has got a parts catalogue available.
Not sure on the owners manual. These books are in storage at the moment. If you come to the Ital Dag (2 September in Beusichem), you can get them.

A workshop manual for 125/250/350/500 can be found here as a download:
http://www.morinist.dk/morini/teknikogtipsmorini.php (the blue book at the bottom of the page).

The 125H was never officially imported in the Netherlands and 125cc in general was never a popular category in the 70s/80s. So there are not many of these bikes in our country. That makes it difficult to identify the year of production. If you have the framenumber and 2 photo's taken from left and
right, you can contact the "Registro Storico Moto Morini" in Italy, see http://www.registrostoricomotomorini.it/ They might be able to help you out.
They also have the owners manual and parts catalogue, according to their website.

Not sure about your chances on a Dutch registration. I first would call RDW, or go to one of their testing stations to find out. I woud do this before
spending much money.

Thanks for that !
Just downloaded the workshop manual and will start fiddling around one of these days.
Plus try and get a bearing on the year of mfg.
Really unsure how the RDW will react to a bike never officially imported / without docs; interesting...

The 125H has been registered as a model in the Netherlands so registering yours should not be a big issue from that perspective. Do you have no documents at all? Not even a bill of sale?

in Germany more 125's were sold, may try and ask on the German forum (ital-web.de/forum/) if they can estimate the year of production based on your frame number.

@mods: moet deze niet naar het "125H, 250T, 250-2C" deel verplaatst worden?
